Etch Neuinstallation, PATA-Platten werden nur als UDMA33 erkannt (statt UDMA100)
Hallo,
ich habe bei einer Etch Neuinstallation mit linux-image-2.6.18-5-686
2.6.18.dfsg.1-13etch6 auf einem Tyan S5151 mit 2 PATA Platten und einer
SATA-Platte das Problem, dass die PATA-Platten nur mit UDMA2 benutzbar
sind, obwohl Board, Kabel und HDs sicher UDMA5 können.
Ich kann hdparm -Xudma[3-5] /dev/hda ausführen, ohne dass ein Fehler
auftritt aber die Ausgabe von hdparm -I /dev/hda zeigt weiterhin *udma2
an und die Übertragungsraten sind auch entsprechend.
dmesg sagt:

Ich habe testweise mal linux-image-2.6.22-3-686 2.6.22-6~bpo40+1 aus
etch-backports installiert und bekomme jetzt folgendes mit dmesg:
hda: host side 80-wire cable detection failed, limiting max speed to UDMA33
hda: selected mode 0x42
Ich bin sicher, dass das Kabel 80 Adern hat und richtig angeschlossen
ist (hab auch zur Sicherheit mal das Kabel getauscht).
Kann man den Kernel irgendwie dazu bringen, das mit der "cable
detection" zu lassen und UDMA5 zu nehmen?
Ich bin für jeden Hinweis dankbar. Wenn es irgendwie geht, würde ich
einen selbstgebauten Kernel gerne vermeiden.
