Das sieht nicht gut aus, da sollte das mux und PID File vom saslauthd 
liegen. 


Stelle die /etc/default/saslauthd wieder auf Originalzustand her und 
mounte mittels -obind das /var/run/saslauthd in das postfix-chroot. Das 
ganze dann auch in die /etc/fstab eintragen.

Danach sollte das obige Verzeichnis wie folgt aussehen:
# ls -la /var/spool/postfix/var/run/saslauthd/
total 64
drwx--x---  2 root sasl 53 2007-02-19 13:43 .
drwxr-xr-x  3 root root 22 2004-07-02 20:54 ..
srwxrwxrwx  1 root root  0 2007-02-19 13:43 mux
-rw-------  1 root root  0 2007-02-19 13:43 mux.accept
-rw-------  1 root root  5 2007-02-19 13:43 saslauthd.pid

Anschließend sollte Postfix die Nutzer via sasl auch authentifizieren 
können.
