Prism I Kernel Modul 'orinoco' ohne scanning (iwlist)

Die ansonsten einwandfrei funktionierende Wlan-Karte von Belkin mit
Prism I Chipsatz verweigert beim scannen mit iwlist (v.27) den Dienst:

> iwlist eth0 scan
eth0    Interface doesn't support scanning : Operation not supported

Ich dachte der Prism Chipsatz wird voll unterstützt?  Kennt jemand das
Problem oder besser noch, eine Lösung dafür???
