Recht hast Du und wenn man vom Debian.org ISOs zieht sollte man sie auch
sinnvoll beschriftet ablegen. Ich wollte aber nicht soviel tippen und
den Rest übersichtlich lassen.

Wenn schon "curl -O" für isos, dann auch "curl -RO" wenn man möchte:
       
            -R/--remote-time
              When used, this will make libcurl  attempt  to  figure  out  the
              timestamp  of the remote file, and if that is available make the
              local file get that same timestamp.

sowie mit "fc" kann man den curl aufrufen und in 
echo "http://cdimage.debian.org/pub..../r2"; >
sagrge-i386-netinst.iso.dl-source

o.ä. abändern um zu wissen wann und woher man diesen File hat.
