sil 3112: hardware raid oder software raid?

Hallo,

ich versuche verzweifelt, bei meinem Board
(Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro2 mit SIL 3112 SATA-RAID)
ein raid aufzusetzen.

Mein System erkennt meine zwei SATA-Platten
als /dev/sda und /dev/sdb. Im Bios habe ich
Raid1 eingestellt und eine der Platten
gespiegelt (Das Bios bietet dafuer eine
Option, dann wird aus der zweiten Platte
eine exakte Kopie der ersten).

Leider werden trotzdem beide Platten von System
behandelt wie zwei SCSI-Platten. Wenn ich auf
/dev/sdaX was aendere, zieht die entsprechende
Partition auf /dev/sdbX nicht automatisch mit.

Ich verwende Kernel 2.6.8-1-k7 mit einer aktuellen
Sarge.

Waere schoen, wenn mir jemand sagen koennte, wie
ich diesen Raid-Controller nutzen kann. Ist es
nun eigentlich ein Hardware-Raid oder ein Software
Raid? Wenn Hardware, warum sehe ich dann 2 Platten?

Danke im Voraus.

Martin
