Maus wird bei Quake3 nicht erkannt

Hallo,
woran kann es liegen, dass meine Maus bei Quake3 nicht erkannt wird?
Unter X läuft diese und früher ging Quake3 auch mit Maus!

Ich habe eine optische USB Maus mit Mausrad.
In meiner XF86-Config4 steht:

        Identifier      "Eigene Maus"
