Jein. exim_user, die ID unter der Exim laeuft, wenn er keine
besonderen Privilegien braucht, ist einkompiliert, das hat aber
nichts group/mail fuer einen Transport zu tun.

Nein. 8:8 ist schon ok. Siehe
/usr/share/base-passwd/group.master.

BTW ist das hier die kanonische Art die Existenz von Usern/Gruppen
zu ueberpruefen:
*prompt* getent group mail
mail:x:8:
