nagios nrpe

Hallo

ich wollte eben mal das ./configure von nrpe ausführen auf dem remote 
host, aber irgendwie klappt das nicht.

./configure
checking for a BSD compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking for gcc... gcc
checking whether the C compiler (gcc ) works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler 
cannot create executables.

vor fünf minuten: apt-get install gcc

alles unter su.

ich habe keine ahnung warum das nicht funktioniert.
