apt-get install

hallo leute
mein 1. tag in der mailing liste und schon das 2. problem ;)
ich möchte apt-get install netselect ausführen (schon genug andere pakete 
probiert) ... und folgendes problem:

E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11 Resource temporarily 
unavailable)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another 
process using it

ich weiß, es sieht aus, als wäre ich nicht root - bin ich aber 100 % und ich 
habe dann zur sicherheit sogar nochmal mit root im x eingeloggt - doch leider 
erfolglos ... der tipp von jemand anderen befolgte ich auch:
apt-get install -f ...
doch auch dies war nicht von erfolg gekrönt
