So flip to a console and log in as root.  Avoid whenever possible
running an x session as root.  The less you run as root, the better.

People have a tendancy to exit shells they're not using.  Most of the
people who don't trained themselves not to.

I have to question whether or not people who dig thier heels in
in favor of inheirently dangerous methods of using root privleges
really should be allowed within arms reach of hardware.

I was also assuming you'd be applying common sense and realise the
fewer things you run as root, the less likely you're going to shoot
yourself in the foot.  Mybad, shouldn't have assumed that.
