Bug#982988: footnotehyper: crashes with "Too many }'s."
Package: texlive-latex-recommended
Version: 2020.20210202-2
Severity: important
Dear maintainers,
While working on a document with pandoc that uses a latex template, I
hit this error:
https://github.com/Wandmalfarbe/pandoc-latex-template/issues/226
It seems the problem is caused by an error in `footnotehyper` that was
fixed a few weeks ago:
https://ctan.org/ctan-ann/id/mailman.3887.1612536880.2532.ctan-ann@ctan.org
You should be able to reproduce the error I'm getting using these steps:
$ wget
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Wandmalfarbe/pandoc-latex-template/master/eisvogel.tex
$ printf '\n---\ntitle: foo\ntables: true\n...\n\n#Foosbar\n' > foo.md
$ pandoc foo.md -o foo.pdf --template eisvogel.tex
> Error producing PDF.
! Too many }'s.
\FNH@check@a ...tnotes \expandafter \@gobble \fi }
{}}\@secondoftwo
\scantoke...
l.286 \begin{document}
Apparently the problem is fixed when using the latest footnotehyper
version (1.1d, Debian currently has 1.1c), but I haven't tested that myself.
I'm unfamiliar with this package, so I'm not sure the severity is the
right one. All I know is that the current version of footnotehyper
breaks my current setup and I have to disable features to be able to
build again.
Thanks for maintaining this package.
