I did contact mia@debian.org for a take over of the xindy package.
We can put it into collab-maint or into debian-tex, I don't mind
any of it.

I first wanted to fix the current problems, then I will upgrade
to last version.
Have you investigated whether using sbcl instead of clisp would work?
clisp is dead, and sbcl is much more reliable and portable.
I will look into it.
