Re: Bug#665479: texlive-binaries: /usr/bin/platex missing which was previously found in ptex-bin

Hi you two,

Because ptex-bin only provides the link
	platex -> ptex
and not the files, they are in the depending package ptex-base.

Now, texlive-lang-cjk provides ptex-base, and the necessary files,
as it should be.

Finally, ptex-* will go away soon, anyway, so why keep this bug
or even worse, do any solution which will be unnecessary soon.

What we should make sure, and that is the only important think in my
opinion, is that an upgrade from the lat stable *with* ptex-*
to the next stable (current testing) without ptex-* goes smoothly.
That is important.

And now that I test it I see that a dist-upgrade did not find the
solution to remove ptex-* and install texlive-lang-cjk ...

So reopening and retitle etc.

As I said, platex is just a link, so not by itself of great
importance.

I don't want this direction. telxive-binaries should not provide
*anything*, only the raw binaries without any files/formats etc.

So we have to find a better solution, I guess the problem is that
I have to add a *conflicts* texlive-common against ptex-*,
that should suffice to make apt find the right solution to remove
ptex* and install telxive-lang-cjk ... I hope ...
If you have a better solution, let me know.

Maybe:
texlive-lang-cjk provides/replaces/conflicts: ptex-base, ptex-bin

What aobut that?

Best wishes
