Short update for everyone:

I am fine. I am living in Kanazawa, Ishikawa-ken, that is on the coast
facing to China, so the other side. Here we had some earth quake strokes,
but nothing serious. The situation is absolutely normal, no supply problems
whatsoever, all normal.

Of course there are two things: The big disaster on the other coast side
induced b the earthquakes and the tsunami, a desaster of enormous
dimensions. But that will be cleaned up, people wil build up new lives,
nothing permanent. Of course toooo far too many lives are lost there,
still many many missing, a great pain and loss.

OTOH the nuclear danger from Fukushima is a different topic. Currently
*I* consider it no real problem, not even for people living closer by,
likein Tokyo. Not too big amounts of radiations have been dispersed. But
there is the risk of an atomic melt down, and we don't know, and it seems
nobody knows, if that can be controlled, what will happen.
This is the prime fear here, we don't know. The only things we can do,
or what I am doing, is to be prepared for the worst case, i.e., stock
up water, food, caliumiodid tablets, duck tape to close windows and doors
in case one has to remain in the flat for some time.

I am still confident that the next days will bring some relaxation, some
relief and good news from Fukushima. But one never knows.

Best wishes

Norbert
