Package: tetex-base
Version: 3.0-7
Severity: minor

As discussed this week on debian-tetex-maint,

- currently aliases don't work because the documentation files are
  gzip'ed

- a lot of packages could use new aliases.

Some of them are:

- all the packages in psnfss, to psnfss2e.pdf.gz

- pxfonts to pxfontsdocA4.pdf.gz

- to be continued.

The only "need" that I am aware of was indeed for the old
/bin/sh-texdoc: It was the only way to teach it to find something else.
More of that is what I intended with the original report.

This no longer applies with texdoc now written in lua and being much
more clever.

I guess it is still documented in info kpathsea that an aliases file is
supported, so if anyone wants to do wild things, they can.

Otherwise - let it go, and let's close this bug. Doing so.
