We already discussed the issue when looking at other packages, and I
think it was consensus that we will try to generate a texlive-*-doc
package for most texlive-* packages. That will solve this bug.
However, this won't happen soon. I fear it won't happen for lenny even,
because of two reasons:
- we don't have the manpower to do the coding (hey, volunteers welcome)
- there's going to be a change in upstream packaging infrastructure in
TL 2008. Since we take our Debian packaging information from that
upstream information, it doesn't make too much sense to implement this
change now with the old infrastructure, and do it once again for TL
2008.
Unfortunately, TL 2008 is not going to be in lenny unless its release
is delayed a lot, or (again) someone steps up and shows they have the
skills and time to bring TL 2008 into Debian. The latter would
involve a considerable upstream involvement, too, since ATM no
snapshots of the TL 2008 (and no updates of compiled source at all) do
happen.
