I can open a bug report if you like.

I haven't done so because I wasn't sure if the output was intentional.

I don't know but I can test this if needed as it's easily reproducible.

Ack.  It doesn't make the software unsuitable, but the package would be
of higher quality if the console wasn't filled up with such messages.

Yes, the program works fine, no problem so far.  It only fills my xterm
as well. :)

I'd suppress them, but it's your call as maintainers.

If not possible otherwise patching the source by removing these lines?
Maybe also talking to upstream so that they'll be removed in future releases
if upstream doesn't consider them important.
