This is clearly a fault of dvipdfmx.  Please try to remove
"/usr/bin/mktexlsr" out of /var/lib/dpkg/info/dvipdfmx.postrm
(line 6) and purge dvipdfmx first.

This looks strange to me but what happend if you purge
preview-latex-style alone manually.
