We are just using upstream's script and his database.  Due to our moving
of files, the database seems to be invalid (I didn't analyse that, just
believing what you're saying), but due to other clever things in the
script, it still works.

I see no reason in updating the database (because it already works), or
in dropping it, or whatever.  If you think the database can generally be
dropped (or rather the path information in it), this should be discussed
with upstream (Thomas Ruedas).
