Bug#365044: marked as done (I want to update tetex-bin from version 3.0-14bpo1 to 3.0-15bpo1 using "Synaptic package manager". I see a message, that i need to install an additional package "lachcheck". Okay, install the package. Then an error message occurs: "tetex-bin: Hängt ab: libxrender1 (>=1:0.9.0.2) aber 0.8.3-7 wird installiert" (english translattion: tetex-bin needs libxrender1 (>=1:0.9.0.2) but 0.8.3-7 will be installed". My system is a standard debian sarge, only davfs and unrar are installed from local deb-files. There is no newer (sarge) version of libxrender available.)

lacheck is only suggested, you needn't install it.

You should put this in your /etc/apt/preferences:
Package: libxrender1
Pin: release a=sarge-backports
Pin-Priority: 999
Package: libxrender-dev
Pin: release a=sarge-backports
Pin-Priority: 999
Package: render-dev
Pin: release a=sarge-backports
Pin-Priority: 999
to get these three packages from backports.org.
