It should be noted that there is a substantial ratio of users for the
default TeX modes among plain TeX and ConTeXt users: AUCTeX is really
ubiquitous mostly for LaTeX documents.  Whether it is worth keeping
xdvi-search.el for those non-AUCTeX users, in particular when it might
confuse the AUCTeX users into trying to mix its operation with that of
AUCTeX, is a different question.  How to answer it would depend on the
objectives of the emacs-goodies maintainer.  Even if it is included,
it might be worth documenting prominently that it is not required for
AUCTeX operation.
