Wherever it is from, it's the right file.

Indeed, that's a bug.  Must have slipped in somewhen, I'll fix it.

Another one.  I must have lost parts of the patch I apply to 05TeXMF.cnf
during package building.  The right location is /var/cache/fonts, and
this directory most probably does exist.

Yes, please wait until the 3.0-2 versions are available (Monday or
Tuesday).  This won't fix the circular symlink stuff, however.
