Dear sir, I run the stable distribution. When I try to install tetex-extra, the system fails with ===Snip of error Message=== mktexlsr: Done. Running initex for missing formats. This may take some time. ... /usr/bin/fmtutil: line 253: ptex: command not foundError: `ptex -ini -jobname=platex -progname=platex platex.ini' failed
===End Snip of error message=====(This is not the actual error message its a copy from bug #232990 ==
After tracing down the error, I find that it is the ptex program that is missing. I therefore beleive that tetex-extra should be declared as depending of ptex-bin, since it fails to install if ptex-bin is not installed.
