For the upstream (i.e. my package), things are easy to explain:
directories in texmf/source are usually just copies of whole directories
from CTAN. Since I don't plan to put much work into the texmfsrc tarball,
this won't change in the near future.

I just jave mv'ed the relevant latex stuff to
source/latex/{eulervm,cmbright} and removed the font stuff. So, consider
this as "fixed upstream".

Yes, for the moment, the upsteam package won't change.
