I don't understand your point:

After '' no protected space is needed (and it is typeset correctly with
LaTeX). In my opinion, there is no error.

This is an error. But it is as unimportant as I can imagine (no problems
understanding the meaning, and it is a _sample_ document. 


If you think that this should be changed, please be so kind and contact
the upstream author yourself. The Debian teTeX maintainer team won't fix
it, as Hilmar has yet indicated. If you agree that it is no problem to
keep it like this, please close the bug, by sending mail to
170645-done@bugs.debian.org.
