Bug#131223: tetex-bin: Undocumented changes in pdftex
Dear Kapil,
two years ago you reported a bug to the Debian BTS, complaining that
pdftex had changed its syntax and dropped the \pdfannotlink primitive in
favor of \pdfstartlink. We apologize not to have answered promptly back
then.
The answer would have probably contained something like "pdftex has not
been declared stable yet, so why do you wonder" anyway. But still I
think this is something that should have been documented, either in the
pdftex documentation or in the Debian part.
However, now that time has passed this change ist probably mostly
forgotten, and \pdfannotlink is used only once in the tetex-packages
(except for some files which try to work around the name change).
I will contact the author of the single remaining file. Besides that,
would you also consider that this bug can be closed? If yes, it's
good practice that you as the submitter so this, by sending mail to
131223-done@bugs.debian.org. If you think there's still some
documentatio needed, please tell us which place you consider
appropriate.
