Bug#269732: tetex-bin: Debconf-note confusing and does not work on install (but on dpkg-reconfigure)

Hello Frank,
ok, I updated at home (testing alpha). I chose "yes" and again I was
not asked any selection. The wording was very clear now.

Before
======
ii tetex-base 2.0.2-9 Basic library files of teTeX
ii tetex-bin 2.0.2-15 The teTeX binary files
ii tetex-doc 2.0.2-9 The documentation component of the Debian te
ii tetex-extra 2.0.2-9 Additional library files of teTeX
ii tetex-src 2.0.2-1 teTeX texmf source files

  tetex-base/oldcfg: true
* tetex-base/oldupdm: true

* tetex-bin/cnf_name:
  tetex-bin/fmtutil: true
  tetex-bin/userperm: false
* tetex-bin/texmf: true

  tetex-bin/oldcfg: true
* tetex-bin/use_debconf: true
* tetex-bin/groupname: users
  tetex-bin/groupperm: true
* tetex-bin/lsr-perms: true

After
=====

ii tetex-extra 2.0.2b-3 Additional library files of teTeX

During update, I saw one segfault:
Regenerating /var/lib/texmf/web2c/updmap.cfg ... done
Running initex. This may take some time. ...
/usr/bin/fmtutil: line 730: 10627 Speicherzugriffsfehler  ${1+"$@"}
Error: `pdftex -ini  -jobname=pdfxmltex -progname=pdfxmltex &pdflatex pdfxmltex.&ini' failed
fmtutil: /var/lib/texmf/web2c/lambda.oft installed.
fmtutil: /var/lib/texmf/web2c/omega.oft installed.
fmtutil: /var/lib/texmf/web2c/amstex.fmt installed.
fmtutil: /var/lib/texmf/web2c/jadetex.fmt installed.
(there may have been more, but I just happend to come by on the console). But
since I had some strange things happening (especially with latex) lately, which
went away after a re-install/reboot, I (unfortunately) suspect my machine.
I saved
/tmp/tetex.postinst.XXCf6vqM
and will run a dpkg-reconfigure tetex-base tomorrow, after a reboot.

Finally I think the wording of NEWS.Debian.gz should be improved. Please
note that I am not a native speaker, so my changes might be unnecessary
or not 100% correct either. I can file a wishlist bug if you'd like:

  Since we introduced debconf management of hyphenation patterns during
  the development of the 2.0.2 packages, this mechanism has been the
  default.

What is the default here? The debconf-management? I'd suggest:
  During the development of the 2.0.2 packages, the hyphenation patterns
  were managed via debconf by default.

Of course you loose the "introduce", but IMHO it is less important when
the debconf management was introduced, but rather important when the default
started (changed).

   switched to enable

I don't think you can say that. Maybe

   switched the default settings to enable

or even better

   changed the default settings to enable

   If you want to get back to the new default

 Well, going back is incorrect here. I know what you mean, maybe

   If you want to use the new default,

Greetings

            Helge

P.S. How long do you wait for an answer for the new debconf (approx)? I also
     saw a fuzzy string in one of the po-files in CVS.
