[beta-3.0] moving and linking map files

Hi all,

when trying to get the symlinks in tetex-base working, I always mess
some things up.

On the other hand, the TeX Directory Structure has changed with respect
to map files: They are all in $TEXMF/fonts/map.

Therefore I had the idea to just do

mv debian/tetex-base/usr/share/texmf/fonts/map debian/tetex-base/etc/texmf/
(cd debian/teetex-base/usr/share/texmf/fonts; ln -s /etc/texmf/map .)

That saves us a lot of work with symlinks, and makes it easier to
maintain if new things are added. However, we would still need the
/etc/texmf/dvips directory for the config.* files.

Currently I can't see any disadvantages of this - what am I missing?

Regards, Frank
