Same here for me. I never noticed it, because with texdoc working fine I
never need to change in a directory under /usr/share/doc/texmf (except
for komabug.tex, but that's a different issue).
Does that mean we need a versioned dependency on perl? I would very much
dislike that. Especially because I was thinking about integrating my
backports into Adrian Bunks collection.
