The lppl is just about being rewritten and discussed. The FSF has
confirmed that the lppl is a free software license (and for teTeX,
this is what counts). g-brief will be put into teTeX.

If debian decides against the lppl, than there will be more problems
than just a missing g-brief class, because this means that there will
be no LaTeX in debian.

But, please, don't discuss this issue (lppl is dfsg compatible or not)
in this thread. The debian-legal list is much more appropriate.
