I did file bugs against login (for su's manpage), and sudo (for not
having the same behavior as su), but there was no response from the
maintainers.

Yes, I just tested it, and it works. This makes sudo's behavior less of
a problem for me, although it's still odd.

I forgot to reply to your previous email about su and sudo. I will take
a look at it now.
