Re: updated teTeX beta
Hi all,
I have a question. When I installed my experimental
tetex-bin, I got an error as follows;
=========================
Running initex. This may take some time. ...
Error: `tex -ini -fmt=jadetex -progname=jadetex &latex jadetex.ini' failed
Error: `pdftex -ini -fmt=pdfjadetex -progname=pdfjadetex &pdflatex pdfjadetex.\
ini' failed
Error: `tex -ini -fmt=xmltex -progname=xmltex &latex xmltex.ini' failed
Error: `pdftex -ini -fmt=pdfxmltex -progname=pdfxmltex &pdflatex pdfxmltex.ini\
' failed
=========================
And their log files said;
=========================
running `tex -ini -fmt=jadetex -progname=jadetex &latex jadetex.ini' ...
This is TeXk, Version 3.14159 (Web2C 7.3.8) (INITEX)
%&-line parsing enabled.
(Fatal format file error; I'm stymied)
running `pdftex -ini -fmt=pdfjadetex -progname=pdfjadetex &pdflatex pdfjadete\
\
x.ini' ...
This is pdfTeXk, Version 3.14159-1.10a-devel (Web2C 7.3.8) (INITEX)
%&-line parsing enabled.
(Fatal format file error; I'm stymied)
=========================
This kind of error will occur when there is some inconsistency,
I suspect.
But what inconsistency in this case? latex.fmt etc. is already
rebuilt in this stage, isn't it ?
Anyway, I suspect that, in postinst, if
"$TEXCONFIG_P init > $TEMPFILE" fails (or returns error code),
we should run it again in some way.
Is there any simple and cool modification ?
Best regards, 2002/10/19
