Yes, I noticed this bug report and discussion there after 
sending the previous mail.  Sorry.

But my main concern is xdvi in potato and not in woody.
In potato nextawg is still of 0.5.1-34 and so xaw-wrappers
is necessary.

My Debian system is basically of potato but only tetex-* are 
from woody and I tested the above method.  It works perfect
as far as I tested.

But as I said first, in potato there is /usr/share/xaw-wrappers/wrapper
intermediate the links of alternatives (can you understand this
explanation?).

Is the advise of Denis effective even in this situation?
(I think to test it later by myself but if someone knows
the answer, please tell me the answer)
