Bug#66634: tetex-base: dpkg: error processing tetex-base (--configure) [Error: kpsewhich cannot find file fmtutil.cnf]
Package: tetex-base
Version: 1.0-10
Severity: important
When setting up tetex-base (1.0-10), I got the error messages:
Setting up tetex-base (1.0-10) ...
Error: kpsewhich cannot find file fmtutil.cnf
dpkg: error processing tetex-base (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of tetex-bin:
tetex-bin depends on tetex-base (>= 1.0-5); however:
etc, etc, etc
The error occurs during the running of /usr/bin/texconfig which is
called by tetex-base.postinst.
This error occurred during an upgrade from Debian 2.1 to Potato. I
then removed tex, and installed Debian's 2.1 version of all the tex
stuff. This worked. I tried again to upgrade tex to the potato version
(from a now all potato but tex system), and it failed again with the
same problem.
Could you guys e-mail me when/if this bug gets fixed? Thanks...
