Bug#396496: Problems upgrading sarge -> etch

Package: upgrade-reports
Severity: important

Hello,

I've seen this problem on two Sarge machines so far where I've attempted
a test upgrade to Etch using the aptitude in Sarge. So it probably isn't just
me. There is an issue with libfam0/libfam0c102:

Trying "aptitude -f install libfam0 libfam0c102" clears up the logjam, aside
from the minor problem that it wants to remove initrd-tools and all
currently installed kernel packages (cf. #396331). apt-get will do the
dist-upgrade with no complaints, and will not try to remove kernel images.

I haven't investigated whether first installing Etch's aptitude will work
better, since I don't actually want to go through with the dist-upgrade.

best regards, and sorry for typing this from a crummy webmail interface.
