Problem with X.org server, NeoMagic driver and Citrix client
Hello *,
my employer runs a Citrix server for home workers. However, the Citrix
server only offers connections with color depth 8 while my X server uses
color depth 24 by default. Now, when the Citrix client opens a window, a
gray rectangle is displayed the first third of which contains the window
contents squashed into it. Interestinly, when I restart the X server
using color depth 8, everything works fine - except the dithered icons
and the odd colors everywhere. So the mapping from color depth 8 to 24
does not work or does not even happen. It seems easy to blame the Citrix
client for this, however a colleague of mine is using Linux as well and
everything works fine for him. So the problem is probably caused by the
X server itself or by the video-device driver (NeoMagic in my case).
Does anybody know where the mapping is supposed to happen?
Michael
