I had the same problem with evolution in the testing
branch after dist-upgrading a few days back.
I tried then to install evolution from the stable
branch as i needed it urgently.
That solved few of the problems, but evolution kept
crashing when i tried to insert contacts, etc.
This problem you report seems to be solved in the
latest evolution release.
Try dist-upgrading again and see if that helps.
