I had ownership/permissions change on some devices which needed manual fixing when I activated udev. Nothing spectacular: customized ownership/permissions on tun interface lost; and ownership on slamr from sl-modem (#308488) which is probably not in Woody. Also bootlogd will not work anymore after enabling udev (#258290, tagged wontfix; can be worked around by moving the bootlogd init script before the udev init script in /etc/rcS.d). I would expect users can still run into minor problems like that, especially if they customized permissions/ownership on devices. IMO they should at least be made aware of the fact.
