may be gpm is installed and running. Kill gpm process and
try again event2/3.



thanks for your help, i tried it, but no result.
(i have the synaptics touchpad on /dev/psaux and
it is working fine)
In the meanwhile i found that i get input
from the usb mouse on /dev/input/event2 or /dev/input/event3
how can i use this? trying /dev/input/event2 in XF-Config
did not really help, it detects the mouse only if plugges in
before i start the Xserver and then movement is erratic at best.
