Bug#186283: netinst cd problems (march24th sarge image)

Using today's image... choosing net at boot...

A minor bug in the network Hardware configuration?
-something like "IRQ=7 IO=0x220"
+something like "irq=7 io=0x220"
I'm not sure if it's case sensitive, but using modprobe required ioaddr
and not io? ioaddr doesn't work here.

The autodetection failure on detecing my network card now sends me to a
manual configuration.

dhcp configuration fails
[...]
installer[65]: running cmd '/sbin/ifconfig lo 127.0.0.1'
installer[65]: running cmd '/sbin/modprobe af_packet'
installer[65]: running cmd '/sbin/pump -i eth0'
installer[65]: Operation failed.

I suspect this is a problem with pump and maybe my dhcp server...
compatibility? Remeber dhclient3 worked fine after install last time.

Selecting sarge to install, http, ftp.us.debian.org and then the
net-retriver I got the Packages.gz from main, but then I got two 404
errors on getting Packages.gz from local. It then started to ask me which
modules to install... I hope this isn't a problem. I'll continue anyway.

Hmm, "q to end, b for begin" is a bit ambigous... something that probably
won't be seen in a graphical installer. Perhaps "q to stop, b for top"?
I'm hoping the defaults will be find and am just selecting q.

I'll resume this when the download finnishes.

Please don't flame me. I'm not that impatient. I am trying to make
constructive comments. I will likely be installing Sarge onto a 486sx25
with 16mb of ram later... I was looking to this and noting that most of
the rest of the install was reasonably fast except for this part.

Perhaps this will be easier when the documentation becomes more mature or
more visable to me. I imagine there is somewhere I could read about how to
use anna, but either I missed it or it wasn't clear. If it wasn't clear
then I'd be willing to try to help. I'll look for it again later.
