Base System Installation Checklist:

Initial boot worked: [O]

Load installer modules: [O]

Partition hard drives: [0]
Create file systems: [E]
Mount partitions: [0]
Install base system: [0]
Install boot loader: [E]
Reboot: [E]
[O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it

Comments/Problems:

"Create file systems" : I wanted to do an ext3 filesystem, but I got
mkfs.ext3 No such file ..., but /sbin/mkfs.ext3 was here
(symlink). Didn't try to launch by hand, I will retry.
Then I retried with ext2 => success. During next boot, when the system
tried to mount the / (auto type in fstab), I got a warning "no
journal". So the mkfs.ext2 need to erase the journal option.

"Install boot loader" : I tried to install grub first, I got a error :
/sbin/grub-install : No such file. I didn't check if the file was here
, I will retry. Tried lilo => success

"Reboot" : during the reboot, I see a message "eject command not
found"

Comments: I did a first install, I tried a french mirror and I got a
403 eror for a file (maybe a mirror synchro problem). I didn't find
the way to reset http mirror selection.

(This is my third attempt at sending this mail, and they keep getting eaten.
I'll split now and hope it gets through. :-) )

I'm closing a bunch of old installation reports that do not appear to be
related to the current state of the installer (ie. report problems that has
been fixed now; some of these should have been closed ages ago, but never
was). Feel free to test the d-i beta and submit new installation reports :-)
