no pmcia-modules package for newest kernel-image-2.4.18-bf2.4
Hi members,
yesterday I upgraded my "testing" system and got the newest
kernel-image-2.4.18-bf2.4 installed. But I found that there is
no matching pcmcia-modules package for it available -- thus my
laptop had no network after the upgrade.
Solution for me: I reinstalled a slightly older version of the
bf2.4 kernel with it's matching pcmcia-modules package:
dpkg -l ...
ii kernel-image-2 2.4.18-5woody3 Linux kernel image for version 2.4.18 (bf va
ii pcmcia-modules 3.1.33-6woody1 PCMCIA Modules for Linux (kernel 2.4.18-bf2.
Question:
Has it been forgotten -- will it be created?
Cheers
Raphael
PS:
With this setup my aptitude now displays the following:
--\ Packages being deleted due to unsatisfied dependencies
id pcmcia-modules-2.4.18-bf2.4 3.1.33-6woody1k5woody3
--\ Packages to be upgraded
iu kernel-image-2.4.18-bf2.4 2.4.18-5woody4
This seems to be correct but disturbed me a bit -- the version numbers
are not really intuitive.
Now I set both packages to be on-hold until there is an pcmcia-modules
package available for the new bf2.4 kernel.
Any tips for a better/more elegant solution?
Thanks
Raphael
