Woody Install Error: NTP dpkg-preconfig
i tried to upgrade from potato to woody using apt-get.
the configuration of NTP failed because the
configuration script tried to run dpkg-preconfig and
failed since there is no such program. i think this
is a typo and it should be the perl script
dpkg-preconfigure in the debconf package.
below is the error i received:
/bin/sh: dpkg-preconfig: command not found
E: Write error - write (32 Broken pipe)
E: Failure running script dpkg-preconfig --apt
how should i go about fixing this? should make a link
from dpkg-preconfig -> dpkg-preconfigure? or should i
fix NTP's configuration script? i would gladly do this
if someone could guide me how to do it? in any case
how do i restart configuration of the packages? i've
only configure about 7 packages before the error
occured.
thanks
patrick
