2.2.14 boot problems

I know you're testing with 2.2.16, but I have not had time
to look at that. 
However, on 2.2.14 I get the following error:

request_module[block_major_8] Root fs not mounted
VFS cannot open root device 08:02
Kernel panic: VFS: unable to mount root fs on 08:02

This happens after loading (trying to?)
the driver for my AHA-2940U2W. 
I use an IBM DRVS-18D.

All is OK with the Deban 2.1 distri...
