Yes, this is always the error message complement (including the potato
install-from-floppy error):

(BOOTING)
Loading modules: nfs nls_cp437 nls_iso8859-1 vfat wd wd.c: No wd80x3 card found
(i/o = 0x300).
/lib/modules/2.2.17/net/wd.o: init_module: Device or resource busy
Hint: this error can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters
/lib/modules/2.2.17/net/wd.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.2.17/net/wd.o failed
/lib/modules/2.2.17/net/wd.o: insmod wd failed

# modprobe wd
wd.c: No wd80x3 card found (i/o = 0x300).
/lib/modules/2.2.17/net/wd.o: init_module: Device or resource busy
Hint: this error can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters
/lib/modules/2.2.17/net/wd.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.2.17/net/wd.o failed
/lib/modules/2.2.17/net/wd.o: insmod wd failed

And yes, 0x300 is correct, and works with kernel-2.0.36. When attempting
to get this to load during the install-from-floppies adventure, I put in
_ALL_ the parameters, one at a time, and retried the module install,
never to any avail.

Yup, and this actually works again (after a power cycle).

Cheers,
