apt-get install cvs/kde-corel removed

I am running a mostly slink system with sprinkles of potato (libc6). I
want to install cvs. When I issue apt-get install cvs (with stable and
frozen in sources.list) I get:

The following extra packages will be installed:
  menu slang1 libpopt0 libncurses4 troffcvt debhelper perl-5.005
whiptail
  libgtk1.2 apache-common libglib1.2 fileutils lynx util-linux apache ae
  esound-common libstdc++2.10 apt aalib1 libapt-pkg-dev libesd0
base-passwd
  dosemu perl-5.005-base makedev info2www libasound0.4 libaudiofile0
dpkg-dev
  gimp dwww modutils libnet-perl alsa-base debconf alien libnewt0 xpm4g
The following packages will be REMOVED:
  perl kde-corel newt0.25 timidity
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  libpopt0 perl-5.005 libgtk1.2 libglib1.2 esound-common libstdc++2.10
cvs
  libesd0 perl-5.005-base libasound0.4 libaudiofile0 dpkg-dev alsa-base
  debconf libnewt0

Notice that kde-corel will be REMOVED! Is this really necessary?

Chris
