Re: Compaq Smart array and DAC960 support on potato boot floppies -- your help needed
I just picked up a Dell OptiPlex DGX 5100 that the Slink boot floppies
hang on. I bootstrapped it using a win98 boot floppy and I'm burn testing
it right now, but I'd like to try the Potato disks.
Are the floppy builds available by FTP as well? I'm also testing the Sparc
floppies, and last time I tried (approx. two weeks ago) lully won't let
wget properly decend dirs with http protocol.
Anyway, the Slink floppies would hang on this machine about one or two
seconds into loading root.bin. The `...' comes up but no more dots are
added, and everything freezes. (most of the time I can't even toggle my
4-port console switch, so the video is frozen)
Hopefully this is a known problem?
Supposedly this machine might be SMP, but I'm waiting on Dell to clear up
some lack of discrete information in their existing docs. :/
