Oops .. I'm sitting at a machine with Driver Version 0.2.0-pre10p1. Sorry!
Version 0.3.0-x uses 116.

How that ? ALSA doesn`t have any native device files in /dev. Just
the /dev/snd link to /proc/asound/dev/ so this problem is automaticaly
taken care of. At another machine I use a Driver Version 0.3.0-pre4.
And I don't remember having to change anything in /dev.

Again, what exactly is the problem for the system administrator? For a
programmer there are big changes if he wants to use the native ALSA
interface but he can stick with the OSS compatible as well.

True. But it should be an option since it supports a lot of soundcards that
OSS/lite does not.
