upgrading hamm->slink/potato
ergh ... I guess I forgot to mail ...
ok .. I'll try to remember and describe ...
I upgraded from an official hamm distr. with close to all installed

I tried @1st to upgrade what I need over isdn when I realized that it'' be too
much time.
Doing so left my system in an pretty unstable situation. (some packages were
upgraded, others not)
I then updated on campus directly hooked up to the internet.
I had to skip back and forth between installing and configurateing 'cause one
of them always brought errormsgs. stopping after a certein ammount.
As it was getting pretty l8t and I had to leave, I again had to stop the
instalation process.
This was now a pretty bad thing, as ncurses was updated but not configured.
dselect now refused to work (as did less)
Finaly I got apt to run with a little help from a friend, which actually
rescued my whole system and fiished the job. (well except of a few unmet
deps.)
Sorry if that was a bit short, please ask qs. if there is anything else I
could describe.
I just upgraded to the current state of the art when I encountered the
following Problems:

- listet in Packages, but does not exist
unstable/main/binary-i386/devel/libgii0-dev_981202-1.deb
- Version conflict Packages <-> file
unstable/main/binary-i386/doc/libggi-doc_981202-1.deb
unstable/main/binary-i386/doc/postgresql-doc_6.4-0.1.deb
- don't remember. deleted both in Packages
unstable/main/binary-i386/libs/libgc4_4.12-4.13alpha3-1.deb
- Version conflict Packages <-> file
unstable/main/binary-i386/libs/libggi-target-x_981202-1.deb
- Version conflict Packages <-> file
unstable/main/binary-i386/sound/alsa-source_0.2.0-pre10p1-5.deb
unstable/main/binary-i386/x11/tkfont_1.1-4.deb
- don't remember. deleted both in Packages
unstable/non-free/binary-i386/games/xmame_0.34rc1.1-1.deb
- file did not exist
