---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Debian Stable Updates Announcement SUA 201-1 https://www.debian.org/ debian-release@lists.debian.org Steve McIntyre June 21st, 2021 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Package : shim-signed Version : 1.36~1+deb10u2 (note: binary packages are versioned as 1.36~1+deb10u2+15.4-5~deb10u1) Importance : medium Shim is a minimalist boot loader which allows signatures of other UEFI binaries to be verified against either the Secure Boot DB/DBX or against a built-in signature database. The version of Shim included in the recent "buster" point release features a regression which can lead to systems running the "arm64" architecture failing to boot. This update resolves that issue by reverting to an older version of the software on that architecture. If you use shim on arm64, we recommend that you install this update. Upgrade Instructions -------------------- You can get the updated packages by adding the stable-updates archive for your distribution to your /etc/apt/sources.list: deb https://deb.debian.org/debian buster-updates main deb-src https://deb.debian.org/debian buster-updates main You can also use any of the Debian archive mirrors. See https://www.debian.org/mirrors/list for the full list of mirrors. For further information about stable-updates, please refer to https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2011/03/msg00010.html If you encounter any issues, please don't hesitate to get in touch with the Debian Release Team at debian-release@lists.debian.org
